As a science student, do you ever have self-doubt? Do you face uncertainties over your future plans?
Professor CHOW Hei Man Kim, Assistant Professor of the School of Life Sciences, will be sharing her own experiences with you. Bring your curiosity to this interactive session and hopefully leave with a happier feeling.

Professor CHOW Hei Man Kim obtained her BSc in Animal and Plant Biotechnology, MPhil in Physiology, and PhD in Pharmacology and Pharmacy, Medicine, all from the University of Hong Kong. She is interested in metabolic plasticity and neurodegenerative disorders, mitochondrial bioenergetics, as well as aging and cellular senescence.

Professor Chow was awarded the 2017 L'Oreal-UNESCO-China Association of Science and Technology For Women in Science National Fellowship (China), Alzheimer's Association Research Fellowship (2017-2021); HKUST-Institute for Advanced Study-Junior Fellowship (2015-2019) and World Economic Forum Global Future Council Fellowship (2016-2019). In 2020, she received the National Natural Science Foundation's Excellent Young Scientist Fund, followed by the JESSICA Most Successful Women Award in 2021, and the CUHK Faculty of Science Faculty Exemplary Teaching Award 2021. With a keen interest in inspiring and helping young women pursue a future in science, she was one of the speakers at the Hong Kong Laureate Forum's event - Wonder Women in Science: Inspiring and Empowering the Next Generation in July 2022.
