CUSA2033 Glimpses of the Oceans 海洋科學探索課程 - 海洋物語

 This course intends to offer an overview on the physical, chemical and biological aspects of the oceans, as well as to introduce the theoretical background and operation principles of laboratory instruments used in conducting marine/oceanographic researches. Efforts will also be made to enhance students’ critical thinking and problem solving skills through evaluating the impacts of human activities on marine ecosystems; and to arose students’ interest in the marine environment and realize it as a vital resource for the survival and development of our society.

Learning outcomes:   Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:
  1. iIllustrate adaptive features of organisms in intertidal habitats;
  2. Critically analyze marine science investigation data and reach valid conclusions about relationships of species within local ecosystems; and
  3. Critique the impacts of various changes (e.g. human activities, pollution, etc.) to the marine ecosystem.
