Student Exchange Programme

YIP Cheuk Ling (Biology)

Studied at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland in Term 2, 2022-23

During my exchange programme, I had the opportunity to study a variety of courses at the top college in Ireland, including genetics, zoology and immunology courses. These courses not only broadened my knowledge but also gave me a deeper understanding of biodiversity in Ireland and medical science. I was also able to participate in several experiments on the investigation of the parasite in sticklebacks and the morphological identification of various parasites, which allowed me to apply the theoretical knowledge I learned in class to scientific practice. Besides, I had the opportunity to participate in various sports activities such as fencing and horse racing. These experiences encouraged me to be brave to try new experiences and stepping out of my comfort zone.

Cheuk Ling (left) took a photo with her flatmate Haley in front of the Campanile, one of the most iconic landmarks of Trinity College Dublin

Kechen (3rd from left) joined the welcome party held by Zhiyuan College

LI Kechen (Risk Management Science)

Studied at Zhiyuan College, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, in Term 2, 2022-23

Zhiyuan College holds various student activities regularly, including singing and sports contests, movie-watching, celebrity lectures, and cultural performances, just to name a few. However, the most impressive one was the night music festival held on a large grassland. Local and international students gathered together to admire music bands performance. Zhiyuan College also invites eminent professors in every scientific field to deliver an academic inspirational speech twice a month. I not only learnt from them some cutting-edge scientific knowledge, but also received opportunities to exchange ideas with professors and other students.
