Abstract:

The world of science offers a multitude of exciting career paths that extend far beyond the confines of a traditional lab of research. In this seminar, we will be hosting Sarah – an engineer and Cambridge University graduate – who has forged a unique and diverse career journey encompassing investment banking and entrepreneurship.

This seminar aims to inspire university students pursuing science degrees, empowering them to think beyond conventional career trajectories. Through personal anecdotes and real-life experiences, our speaker will shed light on the limitless possibilities available to science graduates and how they can leverage their skills and knowledge to excel in various industries. By sharing her personal journey, Sarah will highlight the valuable skills acquired through a science education and how they can be leveraged to drive innovation and create a positive impact in the edtech industry.

About the Speaker:

Sarah Tong is a former investment banker turned entrepreneur and educator where she founded Big Bang Academy in 2020. She is also a part of the Forbes 30 Under 30 List, World Economic Forum’s Global Shaper and a Gen T Honoree. Sarah is a physics enthusiast since a very young age, which enabled her to study Engineering at University of Cambridge.
